Hi

Firstly just want to say thank you for the forum! It has helped me a lot in my recovery!

I am also wondering how more people could get involved in the forum? I am sure there are more than 4 recovering gamblers out there! Is there anyway of advertising this forum more? For example I know when I have rung up the gambling helpline I have been told to book into one on one gambling counselling. Maybe they could also recomend having a look on this forum aswell.

Another idea could be to promote this forum more on this website on the home page, also to possibly get it promoted on other gambling helplines in NZ if this was possible?

I now a member of sober recovery forum which is very helpful and has an enormous group of support!

Cheers
Cairns

Hi Cairns 87,

Thanks for the great feedback. We do get a lot of visitors and people that read the forums but as you have said not many people are posting. Your advertising idea and asking the one on one counselling services to suggest coming on to the site is are great ideas!

Once again, thanks for the feedback, suggestions and for your continued posting.

Hi Owena,

That is a great idea and we will look into it.

If you are still interested in counselling, we offer over the phone counselling. We can call you back at a certain time and day each week for up to eight weeks. This was set up a little while ago as a way to support those that cannot get to one on one counselling. Feel free to call us on 0800 654 655 to discuss this. The whole service is free.

Regards
GH Admin.

Hi sorayajames
Thanks for posting on the forum.
You are right, that you can't help someone who doesn't want help. If you are in New Zealand, you can free phone the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655. We have counsellors available 24/7, ready to talk right now.
