Hi Scorpio and Circadian. I have been going well, but I'll go in for the challenge as well. Every hour, every day, week and every month counts so lets make the next two months gamble free.

Hi everyone.Well I have lost my home, marriage ,my daughter and many friends thanks to my addiction to gambling.I was hospitalized for three months after having a total breakdown so Scorpio I am definitely going to stay gamble free with you.In my case having no money certainly helps as I have been forced to take 8 weeks unpaid leave from my job.

Welcome back Sandy. It sounds like you have been through a rough time of it. Where are you living now? Do you still have your grand-daughter? Lots of questions, but mostly - are you alright?

That's a good way to go Sandy, one day at a time. I'm glad you still have your grand-daughter. It means you have something very special in your life. Look at her and know it's worth it.

Welcome back Sandy, good to see you posting again. I'm sorry to hear things have been so rough. Tasyh is right. Channel the positive vibes through your granddaughter and work on everything else bit by bit, one day at a time.

Fandango thanks!I still remember what you said to me "each day I don't gamble think of the money I save".Yes Taysh I had to battle with CYFS to keep Mya they though because I had a break-down I was not capable but I fought with every breath I had to keep her.Work has been wonderful they think I'll be even better at my job because of what I've been through.
It's really nice to know I still have all of you who care and understand.I feel very lonely at the moment.

Hi Scorpio, I'll take your challenge. I havent posted here for ages but I read the forums often. I was quietly pretty happy because I had stayed away from the pokies for a month, unitl last night. I blew my wages, again, and its back to square one. For me I can resist the urge until I have a wine. Then all rational thought goes out the window and I believe I can walk away if I start to loose. Its just a bit of un I tell myslef. But the reality is I cant walk away...I try to get it back. If I still loose I end up going inot 'what the hell' mode. What a mess. My partner despairs and I don't blame him.

That's the spirit Sandy, don't stop thinking about the money you save from not gambling. Good to hear you have some fighting spirit. Stay with that. It sounds as though work is a worthwhile outlet for you at the moment, so concentrate on that, and that little girl you fought so hard for.

well its 5 days. Its good to know that I am not alone.I stopped gambling for a few months and bought the house of my dreams but i must admit i slipped a few times once i moved in and nearly lost it all again. I am really scared because I really dont trust myself. when i have money i lose myself i turn into another person. If we all motivate eachother i know we can control our addiction.

I am still hanging in. I like this idea of doing it together. I had a few moments of temptation, but I have a thing about this kind of commitment, so I simply cannot gamble in the next two months. It works for me!
Sandy how nice to hear from you again! Sorry to hear that things were so rough for you, but just know that we care and support you.
Taysh, nice to have you here with us.

Hi Scorpio,

Don't give into those temptations. I did and have had to start all over again. We can be fooled into thinking we can just go and spend $20, but it never stops there. Think about where it has got you now and this should help to keep you away from gambling. Keep safe and well.
