As the partner of a gambler I desperately need some advice. How do I get someone to see they need help? All our weekly wage is being used to pay for his gambling, loans that were drawn down for gambling and credit cards used for gambling! I am ready to end my relationship and its pretty tough when you know that someone who is meant to care for you will choose gambling over his family. I have tried over and over again to discuss the issue with him but all that happens is that he gets defensive and angry (which is understandable knowing this is an addiction) and then wont talk to me for days on end and just continues to gamble regardless and as he wont talk there is no resolution. He is also depressed which is either caused directly by the gambling and if not most certainly contributes to it.
I have aided this addiction for too long, tried to help but Im getting nowhere.
We will in the end lose everything, our house, our relationship and our family.
Is there an end to this?
