Welcome to the forum hosted by the Gambling Helpline of New Zealand.

The New Zealand Gambling Helpline service established this discussion forum for people who have experienced gambling-related harm and who want to share their stories and ways of addressing this with each other.

One discussion forum is focused towards those who have personally experienced the gambling problem. A second is for those people who are affected by someone else's gambling problem such as family members and friends. A third forum is aimed at people who want to comment on gambling from a community perspective.

Please note that anyone can view the site without a password.

Gambling Helpline recognise that the stories that are shared on the discussion forum may also help to increase knowledge and awareness about problem gambling in other ways, for example in printed resources seeking to prevent and minimise gambling harm. When approached, Gambling Helpline has an approval process for this and asks that postings are quoted anonymously and without editing or interpretation. However as this is a public site, we cannot control publication of quotes where our permission has not been sought.

Gambling Helpline introduced passwords for posting to the site in July 2006 to prevent spam postings. To register click on the "register" button at the top right of the page.
